What is Truth?
This sermon explores the first piece of spiritual armor from Ephesians 6—the belt of truth. The pastor emphasizes that our spiritual struggle is not against people but against spiritual forces of darkness. Truth is defined as God's view of a matter, not relative human opinion. Just as a Roman soldier's belt secured all other pieces of armor, God's truth must be the foundation that holds together every aspect of our spiritual life. The message challenges believers to move beyond merely knowing truth to actively wearing it daily, allowing it to transform how we live. In a culture of relativism and deception, Christians must anchor themselves in Scripture and the example of Jesus Christ, who embodied truth perfectly. The sermon calls for personal examination of areas where we may have accepted deception instead of God's design, emphasizing that truth—though sometimes appearing restrictive—actually sets us free and leads to abundant life.
